| The world's airports served 2 billion passengers in 2005 - a new record for the industry. According to ACI's data from a sample of 850 airports that represent over 94% of worldwide traffic, passenger traffic was up by 6% in 2004, with strong growth in all regions. Low cost carriers, tapping into latent demand for travel by connecting new city pairs, were major contributors to the growth. |
